GoFibre has presented the inaugural kit to a new grassroots rugby team for girls living in the Borders and North Northumberland, as both team age groups were in action on Sunday 29th September.
The Borders Girls’ Rugby team is a brand-new team connecting girls in the Under-16 and Under-18 age grades who already play for Berwick RFC, Gala RFC, Kelso RFC, Melrose RFC and the wider Borders area.
With a lack of players at each individual club to form competitive teams, the new team was formed to allow girls across the region to play at a higher level and continue their sporting progression within their local area.
Neil Conaghan, CEO at GoFibre, said: “The commitment and drive of the young go-getters making Borders Girls Rugby such a success is inspiring and we’re very pleased to support them.
GoFibre will also support the club by backing upcoming events, matches and community initiatives.
In the Borders, GoFibre has over 25,000 premises ready to be connected to its full fibre broadband network, encompassing properties in areas such as Galashiels, Kelso, Melrose, Selkirk, as well as Hawick, Jedburgh and Duns.
