Fibrus is rolling out its network further across rural Cumbria, with 60% more premises gaining access to faster broadband speeds, following the extension of its Project Gigabit contract.

Grain is expanding its FTTP network to homes across Ashington, bringing speeds of up to 1GBps to residents who want to upgrade their broadband with the altnet operator.
The operator’s network currently reaches 220,000 UK premises, with 30,000 already connected in the town.
The company already have a limited deployment in nearby Blyth.
Richard Cameron, CEO, at Grain, explained: “We’re not just delivering faster internet; we’re helping to build a more connected Ashington.”
The local roll-out is currently entering the construction phase at the end of November, and the first customers will be connected in early 2025.
