A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
CityFibre's £80m investment into Swindon's digital infrastructure could unlock a £1.3bn economic boost for the city, according to a report by Hatch.
The study estimates that, over a fifteen-year period, the positive impacts will include £780m in productivity and innovation gains, £172m from a widened workforce and £535m in increased housing value.
CityFibre's network may also unlock £2bn in gross added value (GVA) from 5G services and £647m from IoT.
The direct impact of network construction has also created 50 jobs within CityFibre's build partners and supply chain.
