nexfibre’s network reach has expanded to 1,557,000 premises ready for service and is on track to pass the two million milestone by the end of the year.
LightSpeed Broadband is expanding its east of England fibre rollout to seven new towns after passing more than 30,000 homes in the region.
The altnet started building in the east of England in April last year in ten towns across south Lincolnshire and west Norfolk.
The build has since expanded across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex and is ongoing in twenty-five towns across the region with a further seven towns now being added to the network.
The new towns are: Attleborough and Downham Market in Norfolk; Haverhill, Wivenhoe and Woodham Ferrers in Essex; Soham in Cambridgeshire and Oakham in Rutland.
LightSpeed is aiming to reach 200,000 homes by end of this year and is aiming to recruit local people to help ramp-up plans.
Deputy Chairman Steve Haines said: “We are now connecting customers from across Stamford, Boston, Spalding and Market Deeping. Five more towns, Bourne, Holbeach, King’s Lynn and Skegness, are planned to go live this month.”
