A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
Communication providers working with Openreach can now offer full fibre broadband across 4.5 million premises as the digital network builder hits its end of March goals.
Openreach claims that customer demand is high with new retail communication providers signing up and new orders averaging a rate of 17,000 per week.
The company hopes that its £12bn investment will connect 20 million premises by the mid to late 2020s with over 170 city locations already on the network.
Openreach is also making plays into the rural market building infrastructure in 550 market towns and villages to add to the three million currently connected premises in the UK's most difficult to reach areas.
