Openreach is urging people living and working in an additional 25 communities to apply for free UK Government broadband vouchers.

Pontyates, Llanfairfechan, Bishopston and Manorbier are among the latest rural Welsh communities identified by Openreach covering 8,000 additional properties.

According to Openreach, if enough people sign, up the latest communities will join nearly 900,000 homes and businesses across Wales that have access to Full Fibre broadband.

Martin Williams, Director of Partnerships for Openreach in Wales, said: “This is an opportunity for people living and working in these 25 rural locations to bring all the benefits of full fibre broadband to their community.”

Recent research by the Centre for Economics and Business Research found that every premise in Wales having full fibre broadband would create a £2 billion boost to the Welsh economy.
