Grain’s mission to pass one million premises with its organic build took a significant step forward this week with the altnet securing a further £225m in investment from HPS Investment Partners. Here CEO Richard Cameron shares with Fibre Provider how the funds will be deployed, details how Grain hit EBITDA positivity at 40,000 customers and reveals his long-term roadmap to build a high-return business with 40% market share on its network.

Rugby MP Mark Pawsey recently visited CityFibre’s £17m rollout in his constituency, learning about the typical build process including excavation and reinstatement.
He said: “Broadband and high quality, reliable internet connectivity is increasingly a vital part of our infrastructure, so this upgrade will ensure that our town has the tools it needs for the homes and businesses of the future.”
Locally, the rollout is being completed by CityFibre’s build partner, Callan Connect. The team is working closely with Rugby Borough Council and local communities to ensure any disruption is managed safely and efficiently.
