The Broadband Forum’s Fibre Access Network (FAN) Work Area has launched a project that will introduce energy-saving requirements for the industry to adhere to.
Runfibre has funded an agroforestry project next to Inglestone Common, led by local community resident Phil Stocker.
The project involves planting 50 mixed and native trees in a 5-acre field to shelter local wildlife. Work is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Dave Swanston, CEO of Runfibre, said: "As a local business, we believe in supporting our community and the environment, and this project is a great example of that.
“Phil's expertise in agroforestry makes him the perfect candidate to lead this project, and we're excited to see the positive impact it will have on the local ecosystem."
Runfibre is also reducing its environmental impact by using renewable energy sources and implementing recycling and waste reduction initiatives.
