Anna Firth, MP for Southend West, was introduced to CityFibre’s £50m fibre which is expected to unlock £296m in productivity and innovation, as well as delivering a £497 million increase in house value.

Representatives from CityFibre and build partner, Telelink Infra Services, introduced Ms Firth to the digital infrastructure and provided demonstrations of the typical build process, including excavation and reinstatement.

“Southend was among the first projects to be announced by CityFibre and we cannot wait to see how the city will benefit in the years to come,” said Jean Gowin, Area Manager at CityFibre,

“CityFibre’s investment is creating over 100 jobs in Southend alone,” added Firth. “By investing in fibre, the UK has an opportunity to create thousands of highly paid, high-skill jobs in construction and engineering.”
