Wessex Internet has connected its first customer in South Wiltshire as part of an £18.8 million contract awarded by Project Gigabit, bringing faster broadband to around 14,500 residents across the region.
CityFibre has made progress on its £45m network in Luton and Dunstable, bringing fibre to thousands more premises.
Work has been completed in large parts of East Luton including Stopsley and Wigmore, and Exploratory and pre-works in the town centre will be taking place in early January
CityFibre’s full fibre rollout will continue across Luton throughout 2023 with Dunstable’s rollout scheduled to get underway early next year.
In Luton, services are available from Vodafone, on selected Vodafone, Giganet, Air Broadband, Zybre, Yazi, No-one, IDNet, A&A, Octaplus, Link Broadband and Facto.
Jean Gowin, CityFibre’s Area Manager for Luton said: “As our network rollout moves into new areas of the town, we will continue to work closely with the council to minimise any disruption to residents.”
Construction is being delivered by Instalcom on behalf of CityFibre.
