Commsworld has completed the construction of Northumberland’s WAN and core network build, helping to transform the County Council’s digital infrastructure.
toob has donated its 900 Mbps service to support a local community centre in Gosport, boosting digital capabilities available to residents.
The Freedom Centre is run by Freedom Church and home to various community activities, especially many involving young people.
Funded wholly through charitable donations, the centre is expensive to run and maintain and has needed extensive repairs.
It has recently been under renovation, with volunteers working alongside the Trustee of Freedom Church, Mike Jenkings, to improve the building and create a community hub in the Elson area of Gosport.
Knowing that the Freedom Centre is a digital lifeline for many of its users, Jenkings was keen to upgrade its slow and unreliable broadband and reached out to toob to help with upgrading the centre’s digital capabilities.
toob organised installation, donating a full-fibre 900Mbps service to the centre, helping to keep the community digitally connected and supporting the facility’s work.
Jenkings said the donation will ensure reliable broadband access which is vital for many of the groups to run and will make “a huge difference” to all centre users, particularly young people.
