Virgin Media O2 is the latest company to sign up to LCC’s Street Works Charter to help make life better for Lincolnshire’s road traffic network and cut the amount of disruption roadworks cause across the county.
The Charter was launched last year in a bid to cut down both the amount of time a road is closed, and the number of times different utility companies carry out work in the same spot. Ten utility companies have already signed up to the charter with Virgin Media O2 being the eleventh.
Nigel Myers, Senior Statutory and Streetworks Policy Manager said: "Virgin Media O2 and Lincolnshire County Council share a commitment to reducing the potential disruption that can occur when carrying out street works and during vital infrastructure projects, to provide access to Virgin Media O2’s high-speed broadband services.
“This charter signifies our joint intention and collaboration to deliver essential street works efficiently and with minimum impact on the lives of the residents of Lincolnshire."
