A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
Virgin Media O2 has connected a further 1,200 homes in Wigan to full fibre as part of its ongoing investment in Greater Manchester.
Since beginning work in the county in 2020, Virgin Media Business has connected more than 1,500 public sites through the Local Full Fibre Networks Programme, delivering economic benefits worth £11.8m in the first year.
VMO2 has also supported the Greater Manchester Technology Fund by donating digital kit bundles to support 567 school children at risk of digital exclusion when schools were closed and donated £100,000 to the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity’s “A Bed Every Night” programme, to fund emergency bed spaces and additional assistance for those who are currently experiencing homelessness.
