Virgin Media O2 is working with City of York Council on a six-month trial to repaint vandalised cabinets and bring them back to their original state.
In York up to 200 cabinets are vandalised every year, making it harder for local people to report damage.
This scheme will see cabinets repainted and fitted with new stickers to speed up incident reporting.
Paul Edwards, Director of Field Engineering & Operations at Virgin Media O2, said: “Damage to our cabinets and equipment can cause customers to lose the vital services they rely on, so we’re committed to tackling this problem and keeping our customers connected.”
