County Broadband has expanded its Bespoke Connections Team, which has now added the 200th remote property to the altnet’s core network.

Voneus Broadband has completed trials of new Gigabit capable Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) technology, completing its network upgrade in Dalton Piercy, Hartlepool.
In 2021, Voneus installed a superfast wireless (FWA) broadband network in the town, initially providing speeds of up to 50Mbps, but has now upgraded this to offer Gigabit capability (1000Mbps).
Voneus worked in partnership with Hartlepool Council to purposely build the network using existing council infrastructure, meaning it took just over a week to build.
CCO Francesca Lee said: “Many rural communities are not seen to be commercially attractive to the big broadband providers. Through experience we’ve learnt to overcome the build and technical challenges which often come with delivering ultrafast broadband.
“The Gigabit FWA network we’ve built in Dalton Piercy was designed to overcome the challenges that other broadband providers have failed to solve.”
