A report from industry regulator Ofcom shows that the number of homes able to get gigabit-capable broadband has increased to 25.9m, with nearly three-quarters of UK homes (22.5m or 74%) having access a full-fibre broadband service.

Zzoomm has recently seen four of its newer towns pass the 15 percent market penetration mark, with further towns also on the way to 20 percent.
It already operates across 29 market towns and small urban communities and is now providing full fibre network services to over 15 percent of households in Penistone, Sherburn-in-Elmet, Sandbach, High Green & Chapeltown.
Zzoomm also confirmed that other towns including Hereford and Stokesley had joined with more than 20 percent market penetration.
Matthew Hare, Chief Executive of Zzoomm, commented: “Despite these towns only having our network build finished a few months ago, the rapid take-up is a reflection of our service that meets our customers’ needs.”
