Freedom Fibre is no longer able to complete a contract to roll out gigabit-capable broadband to 12,000 premises in north Shropshire in full, due to changes in the external market, in a new report from the government’s Building Digital UK (BDUK) Agency.

BT will become the sole provider to deliver public sector connectivity across Scotland through a six-year contract worth up to £350m.
The Scottish Wide Area Network (SWAN) contract will boost communication, data sharing and collaboration across more than 6,000 sites, including 94 public sector organisations through improved fibre broadband and mobile connections.
Public health will benefit with 22 NHS Scotland boards, 278 general and community hospitals and more than 900 GP practices set to be connected to the network.
