As fibre providers open their customers to the world of cloud, the market value is shifting to over the top (OTT) services, says Voiceflex Sales and Marketing Director Paul Taylor.

“It is all about wallet share,” he said. “With the market for altnets mainly comprising of net new customers, fibre providers have a fantastic opportunity to gain more of the customer wallet by selling OTT products and services, such as IP Voice and hosted telephony.”

With the 2025 PSTN switch off looming, Voiceflex is offering ISPs Voiceflex IP Voice, Voiceflex Flow (UCaaS) and MS Teams Direct Routing as OTT services to help migrate customers away from legacy systems.

“28 million PSTN connections need replacing by 2025, which is in less than 45 months! Eight million of these require voice,” Taylor added.

“Voiceflex IP Voice is a direct replacement for a voice PSTN or analogue line. It is non-circuit specific, fantastic for an over-the-top product if using several providers.”

MS Teams Direct Routing allows customer to use MS Teams as their telephony application replacing or complementing their traditional telephony application.

Taylor said: “MS Teams Direct Routing allows customer to move to a whole new world of unified communications.”

Voiceflex Flow is the companies new UCaaS platform powered by Telavox. Hosted is a great revenue generator for the altnets.

The company is looking to double turnover in the next three years while retaining the same profit margins.

Taylor said: “The Fibre Provider Market is net new to Voiceflex; thus, the market share can only rise, we serve a few companies in this space, the results have been impressive from a standing start.”
