KCOM has begun work to connect 360 properties in Gunness, Lincolnshire, to its full fibre network.

This is the first step in KCOM’s £62m network expansion in Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire which will pass 50,000 more premises within the next two years.

Among the other Lincolnshire communities KCOM is set to reach in the year ahead are Caistor, Louth, Market Rasen, Alford and Mablethorpe.

North Lincolnshire Council Leader, Rob Waltham MBE, said: “A quality broadband network is now an essential part of any community. Especially now, with more people working from home, children doing their homework online and older people keeping in touch with their families.”

Neil Bartholomew, MD of KCOM Retail, added: “We’re determined to connect rural communities and make sure that no-one is left behind in this digital world.”
