GoFibre is to launch its GoFurther Fund in north Northumberland for the first time, giving local charities and organisations support from the fund, which forms part of the altnet provider’s social impact strategy and helps charitable groups to transform local lives within the regions with access to its full fibre broadband network.

Runfibre has been awarded the Armed Forces Covenant Silver Award for its commitment to supporting veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families.
The altnet began this journey in 2022 when it signed the Armed Forces Covenant, a solemn pledge to support the armed forces community.
CEO Dave Swanston is a military veteran himself with two tours of duty in Afghanistan. He has spearheaded the company's dedication to honouring the armed forces.
He said: " At Runfibre, we hold a deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by the armed forces and their families.
“We are committed to ensuring that veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families receive the support they deserve, and this award validates our ongoing commitment."
