Wildanet is celebrating a double-milestone in its £77m rollout of full fibre broadband in Cornwall as part of Project Gigabit, and has now connected a total of 10,000 premises in the first two phases across the south west and central parts of the region.

Airband’s and Connecting Devon and Somerset (CDS) have provided an update on the altnet’s build progress across various towns.
The statement reveals that the full fibre network is now available in and around Barnstaple, Bratton Fleming, Braunton, Croyde, and Goodleigh, with teams working on the final hard-to-reach properties.
Redmond Peel, Director of Airband, said: “At Airband we believe that rural communities should have access to the same level of high-quality connectivity, and therefore opportunities, as those in urban areas.
“CDS has delivered superfast access to more homes and businesses than any other broadband programme in England, with over 315,000 premises receiving access to superfast broadband as a direct result of investment by CDS.”
