The Broadband Forum’s Fibre Access Network (FAN) Work Area has launched a project that will introduce energy-saving requirements for the industry to adhere to.
Fibrus has added 30 new electric vehicles to its fleet to get ahead of its current sustainability targets.
The altnet now has 37% of its overall fleet as electric, which surpasses targets to hit a 30% fleet by the end of 2023. This saves around 176 tons of CO2 per year.
Fibrus has committed to a 100% EV fleet by 2025 and currently has 44 electric vehicles on the road.
All Fibrus EV drivers have home charging facilities, and the fleet is supported by rapid car chargers which are available at Fibrus’ Dargan site.
Head of HSEQ John Evans, said: “It’s great to be at the forefront of fleet electrification and playing a part in the rising green tide.”
