Wildanet is celebrating a double-milestone in its £77m rollout of full fibre broadband in Cornwall as part of Project Gigabit, and has now connected a total of 10,000 premises in the first two phases across the south west and central parts of the region.

GoFibre’s network is now live across three Northumberland locations as it completes phase one of its £7.3m Project Gigabit contract.
The contract was awarded last Autumn and construction began in July after a period of surveying and planning with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and Northumberland County Council.
The completion of phase one means over 1,100 homes and businesses in the areas of Wooler, Berwick-upon-Tweed and Belford can now benefit from full fibre, with the first connections already being made.
Further phases will continue until 2025 as GoFibre makes its way across north Northumberland. Once complete, more than 3,900 local residents and businesses across Berwick-upon-Tweed, Seahouses, Wooler, Belford and neighbouring communities will be able to access its network.
CEO Neil Conaghan said: “With the support of the UK Government and Northumberland County Council, our customers in the region will now be able to notice a marked improvement in their ability to perform fundamental online activities for both work and leisure.”
