A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
Lothian Broadband Networks is set to go live for over 3,400 homes and businesses in Stirling’s surrounding villages.
This will be complete by the end of the year, less than 12 months after being asked to overhaul internet speeds in the area by the local council.
The rollout was funded by The Scottish National Investment Bank and utilised the Building Digital UK Gigabit Voucher Scheme.
CEO, Gavin Rodgers, said: “Being signatories of the Scottish Full Fibre Charter means we are committed to delivering digital infrastructure to the areas of Scotland most in need.
“This area of Scotland had suffered from being included in various build plans which never progressed to delivery, creating an understandable sense of frustration within the communities.”
