Wildanet is celebrating a double-milestone in its £77m rollout of full fibre broadband in Cornwall as part of Project Gigabit, and has now connected a total of 10,000 premises in the first two phases across the south west and central parts of the region.

Openreach has begun work to bring fibre to Folkestone and Hythe, expecting to reach most local homes and businesses in the region over the next 12-18 months.
The team building in Hythe has been drawn from Openreach’s in-house engineering force and includes newly trained recruits.
Openreach build partner Morrison Telecom Services is helping to deliver the investment in Folkestone.
Kieran Wines, Regional Partnership Director for Openreach, said: “Folkestone and Hythe are part of our balanced build across the south east, which includes more than 200 rural and coastal exchange areas.”
Openreach’s network in the south east now reaches more than one million properties. Residents in 150 exchange areas across the region have access and investment is planned in a further 189 local locations.
Kieran added: “We want to make sure that progress is evenly spread and that people in all parts of the south east can be online effortlessly and build opportunities in their community.”
