The £100m Superfast North Yorkshire project has now been completed with 200,000 plus premises having benefitted from a broadband boost.
Alncom has detailed plans to connect a further 25,000 rural premises in Northumberland to full fibre, making three Directorial hires to spur this growth.
Mike Surrey, Rory Wilson and Dr Andrew Parry have all been appointed as Directors to strengthen the management team.
Surrey brings knowledge of the FTTH industry from working with altnets such as Gigaclear and Community Fibre. He is MD of Railsite Telecom, a strategic Investor in Alncom and a builder of rural mobile infrastructure focused on Rail corridors.
CEO of Northumberland Estates, Rory Wilson, provides knowledge of the north east business landscape and experience in business growth, operational efficiency and performance management.
Alncom will leverage Dr Andrew Parry’s planning, project and commercial management know-how to scale-up its fibre rollout. He is currently MD of Project Advisors International.
The altnet’s rollout has already passed 7,000 premises and the 1,000th fibre customer recently went live in the remote hamlet of Biddlestone.
During its rollout Alncom is expanding network access to community premises by installing free fibre broadband into village halls. Longframlington Village Hall in Northumberland became the 20th ‘Alncom Digital Hub’ this month.
Alncom MD Stephen Pinchen said: “The need for reliable, high-speed broadband has never been more important.”
