The number of homes able to get gigabit-capable broadband is up to 24.0 million (80% of all UK homes), according to Ofcom’s Connected Nations Spring 2024 update. This is up 78%, from 23.2 million since its update in September 2023.
Trooli’s full fibre network has tripled in the last year, now expanding to reach 275,000 premises.
The milestone comes as its services go live for the first time in Norfolk and Dorset.
Trooli is now working to make its services available to a further 80,000 premises over the next three months, with an emphasis on East Sussex, West Sussex and Suffolk, alongside further cable laying in Cambridgeshire, Dorset, Hampshire and Kent as well as launching its first network area in Derbyshire.
Once complete, the altnet will have laid more than 4,000km of fibre optic cabling since its launch.
“Our team now numbers more than 250, allowing us to accelerating our roll-out, delighting our customers, hit our business plan targets and deliver value for our investors,” said CEO Andy Conibere.
