Truespeed has hit two milestones in its full fibre rollout, passing 100,000 premises and connecting over 21,000 customers.

The Bath-based altnet has focused its investment on boosting the broadband infrastructure in rural villages and market towns.

CEO James Lowther, said: “The south west is one of Britain’s most under-served regions for broadband and we are on a mission to bridge the digital divide.”

Over the last 2 years the company has expanded to villages such as Batheaston, Bathampton and Bathford and extended its coverage across Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

It has also reached a take-up rate of over 33% within three years and over 50% within five years of making a property ready for service.
