The number of homes able to get gigabit-capable broadband is up to 24.0 million (80% of all UK homes), according to Ofcom’s Connected Nations Spring 2024 update. This is up 78%, from 23.2 million since its update in September 2023.
Zzoomm has doubled its customer base in the last six months, now hitting the 20,000 customer milestone.
The altnet has signed up 1-in-3 premises in Henley-on-Thames as well as 23% of Sandhurst and Crowthorne.
Zzoomm is also soon to complete a series of local network extensions across their UK footprint with the first coming from Henley-on-Thames into neighbouring Shiplake. These expansions alongside new towns added to the Zzoomm network will see it pass 200,000 properties by end of Q1 2024.
CEO Matthew Hare said: “We’re still a young company with an average network age of less than 12 months. Our plans are ambitious and we will achieve fabulous things in 2024 as we pass 200,000 ready-for-service homes and welcome the next 20,000 customers.”
