A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.
Ogi has reached the 100,000 premises passed milestone, two thirds of its planned first phase rollout, with 20% of premises now signed up to one of its home or business services.
In places like Pembrokeshire, where Ogi gained first mover advantage, the altnet is seeing double that rate of growth.
The business shifted its approach at the beginning of 2024 to focus on customer take-up through a new pricing and shorter-term contracts strategy.
CEO, Ben Allwright, said: “With one in five of the premises we can serve already signed up to Ogi, it’s clear to see we’re investing in the right places.
“Putting our ISP operations first since the start of the year and harnessing the build machine as a tool for growth has allowed us to take a breath, and make sure we’re doing the right things for our customers and long-term sustainability.”
Ogi’s network is currently being rolled out in around 60 towns and villages across south Wales.
