Virgin Media adds 12,000 homes to Exmouth network

Virgin Media is continuing to roll out its gigabit broadband across Exmouth, and now more than 12,000 more homes can sign up to services using speeds of 2Gbps – 16 times faster than the local average.

Work to bring full fibre connections to the area has been completed, and Virgin Media will use the network – which has been built on behalf of nexfibre – to deliver broadband and streaming services to residents.

£4.5bn is being invested by nexfibre to deliver high speed FTTH connections to 5 million homes across the UK by 2026, and the company recently announced it has already reached a total of one million premises passed and ready for service.

Rajiv Datta, CEO at nexfibre said: “nexfibre’s multi-million pound investment in Exmouth will enable thousands to access the benefits of full fibre broadband, including being able to participate in the local economy and connect with the community.

“It marks a significant step on our journey to connect 5 million premises by 2026.”
