CityFibre has begun work to connect more than 57,000 homes and businesses across areas of East and West Sussex to full fibre broadband as part of a £108m Project Gigabit award.
More than 43,000 homes and businesses in Reading can access Openreach’s full fibre services with work ongoing.
Openreach is prompting local premises to take up services with just a 14% adoption rate.
Martin Williams, Openreach Partnership Director, said: “Our investment across Reading continues at pace, and we’re determined to deliver a great service which helps this community thrive.
“Ultrafast broadband can have a huge impact on people’s lives and it’s great for the economy, but upgrades aren’t automatic.”
In Reading the services can be ordered through BT, Sky, TalkTalk, Vodafone and Zen.
