A recent survey from bOnline has shown that many SMEs are unsure about the availability of altnet in their area, with confusion over the UK’s broadband roll-out strategy.

Freedom Fibre’s activity in the north west will include Shropshire in Spring 2022 with Whitchurch, Wem and Prees set to join the altnet’s £5m gigabit-capable network.
Construction has already begun using existing BT Openreach infrastructure.
CFO Darren Wood said: “Our initial build has been focused around north Cheshire and south Manchester and while we will continue to build in these areas we are delighted to be expanding into Shropshire to offer the benefits of full fibre.”
